Mitchell's close friend Angela lost her life through a fatal car accident when she was only 15 years old. Mitchell was devastated and composed a song Angel for Angela on her debut album. On the 7th Heaven Episode Nothing Endures But Change and in Chicken Soup for Preteen Soul she also talked about her experiences.
